ABSTRACT

Objective To study the expression and significance of excision repair cross complementing genes 1 (ERCCI) in the tissue of nasopharyngeal carcinoma(NPC).Methods ERCC 1 proteins was assayed with immunohistochemical method in the tissue of 103 cases of NPC and 50 cases of chronic inflammation of nasopharyngeal epithelium(CINE).Results The expression rate of ERCC1 was 45.63% in NPCs,which was significantly lower than that in CINE (70.00%) (χ2 =8.037,P < 0.05).The expression rate of ERCC 1 in NPCs had relationship with T,N staging and clinical staging as well as the presence of recurrence and metastasis (χ2 =9.007,9.992,8.343,5.792,all P < 0.05),while no relationship with age and gender(χ2 =0.026,0.871,all P > 0.05).The expression of ERCC1 in group of recurrence and metastasis was significantly lower than those in group of no recurrence and metastasis.Conclusion The expression of ERCC1 was significantly decreased in NPCs.ERCC1 will probably become prognostic biological parameters of NPC.

ABSTRACT

<p><b>OBJECTIVE</b>To study the chemical constituents of Periploca calophylla.</p><p><b>METHOD</b>Various chromatographic techniques were used to isolate the constituents, and their structures were identified by spectral and chemical methods.</p><p><b>RESULT</b>Two oligosaccharides were isolated from the chloroform part of P. calophylla and their structures were identified as 4-O-acetyl-beta-cymaropyranosyl (1-->4)-O-beta-D-cymaropyranosyl(1-->4)-O-beta-D-canaropyranosyl (1-->4)-O-beta-D-cymaropyranosy(1-->4)-O-oleandronic acid-delta-lactone(1), and perisaccharide B (2).</p><p><b>CONCLUSION</b>Compound 1 is a new compound. Compound 2 is reported for the first time from this plant.</p>

ABSTRACT

In a least square method, an exponential function fits the energy density distribution of fundamental and harmonic frequency component in a long-term ECG energy spectrum. A distributing index of the function was used to quantify divergence and convergence degree of energy density. The function fits locally the ECG energy spectrum data that were collected from the young (21-34 yr) group and elderly (68-81 yr) group rigorously energy density ratio of the harmonic to fundamental frequency component and recognizability number of harmonic frequency component were significantly less in the young group than in the elderly group (P < 0.01), the center frequency f0 and energy density at center frequency f0 did not differ between the two age groups. These data indicate that the characteristic parameter values presented in this study can serve as a new measurement of heart rate fluctuations.

ABSTRACT

The myocardial ischemia model was established by ligating the left anterior descending artery of mice for 10 min. The ECG signal were collected from the mouse with acute myocardial ischemia and from the healthy mouse as controls. The frequency of data acquisition was 500 Hz. The measurement time around 20 seconds was chosen. The wavelet transform technique, a time-frequency method with logarithmic frequency resolution, was used to analyze the ECG signal. Mexican Hat wavelet was used and the scale factor was chosen from an interval [0.00125, 2.5] for evaluating its wavelet coefficient at corresponding scale respectively, thus the central frequency of the band-pass filter was within a range of 200-0. 1Hz. Then we evaluated the signal energy in the bandwidth delta fat frequency f. A variational rule was obtained, i.e. rat's ECG signal energy varies with frequency before and after myocardial ischemia. The results showed that in the mice suffering from acute myocardial ischemia the average signal energy increases in 0.1-1. 0Hz and 1-10 Hz segments and decreases in 10-200 Hz segment.

ABSTRACT

AIM: To determine gallic acid,paeoniflorin and safflor yellow in Taohong Siwu Decoction(Semen Persicae,Flos Carthamietc.) METHODS: To analyse three constituents by HPLC on a Hypersil BDS C_(18) column and gallic acid detection wavelength was set at 271 nm.The mobile phase was methanol-water(5∶95) (adjusted to pH=3.0 with H_3PO_4) at a flow rate of 1.0 mL/min. Safflor yellow detection wavelength was set at 403 nm.The mobile phase was methanol-water(80∶20) (adjusted to pH=3.0 with H_3PO_4) at a flow rate of 1.0 mL/min. Paeoniflorin detection wavelength was set at 230 nm.The mobile phase was methanol-KH_2PO_4 at a flow rate of 1.0 mL/min. RESULTS: Gallic acid showed a good linear relationship at the range of 4.547?10~(-3)-1.455?10~(-1) ?g/?L(r=0.999 3).Paeoniflorin showed a good linear relationship at the range of 0.010-0.200 ?g/?L(r=(0.999 8)) and safflor yellow showed a good linear relationship at the range of 2.34?10~(-2)-7.50?10~(-1) ?g/?L(r=(0.999 4)).The average recoveries were 98.0% for gallic acid,98.4% for paeoniflorin and 99.2% for safflor yellow.The RSD of the method were 1.8%,0.69% and 0.88%,respectively. CONCLUSION: The method is proved to be fast,feasible,simple,and can be used for quality control of gallic acid,paeoniflorin and safflor yellow in Taohong Siwu Decoction.
